This is my first post as I am a new member! I have owned older model G17, G21 and G30. Unfortunately I sold them all at one time or another. I ordered a new Gen 4 Glock 30 from GT Distributors. I have been not so patiently waiting for weeks as its on back order. I was considering replacing the polymer stock guide rod with a stainless steel guide rod. What is everyone's experience with changing to a stainless steel guide rod in a Glock 30? I am somewhat confused which to order. I don't want to order the wrong one or one that is problematic. Thanks in advance and I will definitely post pictures when it FINALLY arrives. :)

Beat me to it. No Gen4 30's yet. They can't even make available the 32 shown at Shot in Dec.

Sent an iPhone 4s sitting next to a Glock 17 loaded with 19 round of +P+ ammo.

The G30 guide rods are mostly steel. I first got a G30 in May 1997. The recoil spring assembly was still fine in 2005 when I sold it.

Good luck getting a Gen4 G30, as they have not yet been released by Glock.

yes the there is no Gen4 30.... as for the SS guide rods, I have one in my 30SF and have almost 1000 rounds with it and no problems with it there are different ones out there the one I have is black I have a silver one also but just did not like how it looked, I think I got mine from Glockmeister I would say get one if thats what ya want it really didnt make much of a change in groupings or recoil IMO it still shoots great with the stock or SS RSA...

It has been ordered through GT Distributors, Law Enforcement supplier. They told me they have 27 Gen 4 G30's on back order. They said Glock was overwhelmed with orders due to a huge law enforcement order. Just relaying what they told me.

There is no point to replacing the guide rod.

Just leave it be and shoot it.

Not that you can, or will be able to for quite some time.
