After on hundred rounds or so through my 30 I noticed what appeared to be pitting in the barrel. I only fire FMJ through the glock and clean it every time I fire it. Other searches hint the the "flaking tennifer finish" is to blame. Is this a defect? Should I request another barrel? I now have 2000 rounds through the 30 and the pitting remains.

I supect what your seeing is on the high part of the barrel groves?. yes this is normal in Glock barrels. Every Glock I own has done this between 200 and 500 rounds. It has never affected accuracy, and according to Glock when I called them some years ago when I first notice it, it is normal.

btw tennifer will not flake, it's not a coating per se, but a metal treatment.

fwiw: I never seen pitting on glock any thing ;)

I've owned a lot of glocks and never seen anything in the bore I would describe as "pitting." I'd have to see a picture.
