I'm thinking about getting one of these two pistols for my primary carry firearm. Can you please take a second to compare the following attributes along with others that you believe to be relevant. Finally, which would you prefer to carry? What load in 357? I appreciate your time sir. Thanks.

Pretty much a coin toss. .40 gives you a lot more versatility: .38-40 ballistics with the 180 grain subsonic, high end .38 Special ballistics with 165 grain subsonic, 158 grain .357 Magnum country with 165 grain at full speed 1140 fps or 155 grain JHP at 1200 fps; and wound profile very similar to 125 grain 357 Magnum with the hard-to-find full power 135 grain .40 at 1300 fps. Practice ammo tends to be more readily available, and sometimes cheaper.

.357 SIG in my hands gives slightly less perceived recoil (though that's highly subjective) than the hottest .40 loads, but more than the subsonics. Also outstanding accuracy and flat trajectory, and superb tactical penetration. Very sharp report with the .357 too.

Beauty is that since all you have to do is swap barrels to turn the same size Glock .40 into a Glock .357 or vice versa; it's cost effective and option-expanding to have your choice of either one at any time.
