Ok, now I got my 27 and I'm looking for a holster. I picked up a Fobus like the one I have for my XD, but it sucked. I can't adjust the retention on it at all, and almost rip my pants off trying to take it out. So I took that back, and now are looking at some leather ones. Galco summer special, Walkabout, Smartcarry. Would like to go IWB, but not sure how comfortable they are. But my end goal is to be concealed and comfortable. Any suggestions from people who wear all day? Thanks!

John,
I carry a Glock 23 both on/off duty, I went through several holsters trying to find "the one". I tried owb and iwb, I ordered the Comp-Tac paddle, with the FBI cant and could not be happier. It holds the gun tight much like a pancake holster. The beauty of CT is if you order a holster the wait is only +/- ten days, and if you get it and don't like it they offer a full refund your only out the shipping. The CT paddle is very stable and wears well with only a t-shirt. As for a belt holster I use a Alessi belt slide, great holster, Alessi is still in business, the Alessi holsters are great, I highly recommend them.
Check out the Ct website they offer great products, for both owb and iwb, many here on GT swear bt the C-Tac and M-tac, I just frefer the owb, I find it much more comfortable. If you want leather another option is Milt Sparks, their wait time is about six months, but worth the wait, some order from a website called Lightning Arms sports, they are a little higher in price than buying directly from Sparks, but no wait if they have the holster you want in stock.
Good luck, hope this has helped.

I carry my G27 everyday in a Milt Sparks VM II (IWB). The wait time is up to 6 months and they are expensive. To me it was worth the price and the wait. It is very comfy to me to wear all day long.

Fobus holsters work great with all my Glocks, you just have to learn how to use it!
Avoid the roto models and you will be fine.

Rip your pants off :wow: I really can´t see how?

Did you get the belt or paddle model

I recently got a 26 and picked up a Fobus paddle for summer weather here in Texas. Now I realize I can't wear this thing unless I add some padding at the top of the inside or have a t-shirt between me and the holster because there are two little metal thingies that feel like needles in my right side.
I never noticed this at the store. And yes, that gun isn't going to fall out.
Well anyway, I should be receiving my Don Hume H721OT today in the mail.
Not a paddle but a OWB with protection between you and the gun with no sharp deals to puncture me. Got it in saddle brown.
Might be an option while you're waiting for your Milt Sparks.

First you have to decide if you're comfortable carrying a firearm IWB all day. After 27 years of carrying a firearm, I pretty much ONLY carry IWB when off duty. You also have to decide if you'd prefer Kydex or Leather. I found an excellent holster from Kytac Premier Kydex Gear. I've have several of his holster and just love them all. The Kytac Braveheart IWB for my G23 is my favorite, but they also make belt holsters. www.kytac.com.

Also, you might want to check out the GT Want Ads section, under holsters and related items. I've gotten some very good deals on new and slightly used holsters. This saves time, especially if you're looking for a Milts Sparks or similar holster that usually takes 6-9 months to receive after ordering.

Like others have stated that it does take a little getting use to some IWB and others just disappear. I can say that currently I have 2 different IWB, 1 OWB and 1 shoulder rig. MY OWB is the Don Hume H721 OT that I like a lot. The 2 IWB are the Bianchi 3S, that was my first IWB and I liked it until my recent purchase. I just received my Barber Leather Works IWB and mag pouches and can't say enough about the IWB. It doesn't even feel like I have it on and the craftsmanship is top notch.

You are going to have to decide which is the perfect one but for the price, quality and lead time the Barber Leather Works gets my vote.

My very first IWB holster came from Barber Leather Works for my G27(sponsor on G.T). I can't begin to tell you how comfortable it is. I even wear it with athletic gym shorts with no belt. You have no idea you are carrying.

At least check him out before you make a final decision. His work is great, price is $40-$55 (IWB anyway) dollars with maybe a wait time of a week.

He is currently working on a the same IWB holster I just bought with the addtion of an extra mag holder stitched right next to the gun itself. Nice and compact all in one holster.....No need to have an individual mag holder.

At least do yourself a favor and stop in to check out his products www.barberleatherworks.com and if you see something that is not there more than likely he can come up with it.

My G27 gets carried in a FIST, Inc, ultra-thin kydex (inside waist-band).

super thin, slick draw, conceals great.
(probably not as comfy as leather)
Good to hear. I ordered a FIST K4a w/velcro clip for my G33. The FIST K5 pocket holster that I have for my PM9 is great so I'm hoping I'll love the K4a as well. I also got a body protector for the K4a and had them both covered in ultrasuede. The ultrasuede helps out on my K5 with pocket retention and FIST says it will help with any possible kydex cracking down the road. It doesn't add much at all to the thickness which is the great thing about the FIST ultra thin kydex.
