A question to anyone who is an armorer or knows the answer:

Is there anyway for me to convert my Glock 27 to a 26. (Barrel change, guide rod/spring, magazines..etc) I am just curious since my department does not supply .40 SW ammo, i love the size of my 27, but do not want to spend the $$$ to buy a Glock 26 unless i have to. Thank you.

You can buy a 9mm conversion barrel, model 26 magazines and start shooting. Some would advise getting a 26 extractor. Most would recommend against carrying the conversion as a defensive weapon, use for practice only.

Barrels are available from Federal, KKM, Barsto, Lonewolf, Olympic, and others.

Model 27 can also be converted to 357 sig, with just a conversion barrel.

22lr is possible with conversion kits from Ciener or Advantage Arms. Most here recommend AA.

I shoot 9mm in my G27 all the time.
I use a Federal Barrel which has the same outside dimensions as the stock G27 barrel. For mags, I use the G26,G19,& G17/34 mags.

I lucked out as both the original G27 barrel and the Federal barrel in 9mm shoot to the same point of aim with the PT Night Sights I use.

Barrel and mag change = Cheap practice
