The extended slide takedown pin was in backwards

First off let me list the mods done to the gun

Lightning Strike guide rod, extended mag release, 3.5LB connector #4 striker spring, clipdraw. Extended slidestop, and extended slide takedown pin.

Obviously you shouldn't be jerking your wrist like this but i was practicing drawing and quick point shooting and the slide flew off and landed and banged up the front sight.

What is going wrong? should it be doing this, is something put together wrong? Could this occur if the gun was being shot?

Man, with all the counter-reliablility stuff you've done, I won't pretend to know. You're cool for including a video, thumbs up on that! Try returning it to stock and trying one aftermarket mod at a time to see which one might induce the failure you illustrate.

I'd have to speculate that there is a problem with (I don't recall what we're calling it this week) the slide stop (or is it slide release), the piece that you depress when you take it apart, not the piece that locks the slide to the rear. Have an armorer look at it, or just replace it and put in a new spring.

I looked at mine, and I'd bet money that it is the slide lock lever (or slide takedown pin as you say) that's giving you problems. Let us know how it works out.

    Is this a carry gun?

    I hope not.

It would be called 'armorer damage'......if who ever did it was an armorer.

    Yup.

What the HELL is a extended slide take down pin?

If you mean the slide lock the lip goes to the rear.

Your slide lock is installed backwards, the side with the lip needs to face toward the magazine well.

Agree.....we are talking slide lock..not slide stop.....if you look you will see a lip on one side of the top.....that faces the mag well.
