Well since I installed the NY1 trigger spring, I can't tear down my gun unless I manually adjust the trigger (pull it back) and only then am I able to break the slide from the frame.. I tore it apart twice and put it back together and everything seems fine. It's a pretty simple install and I watched videos over and over to make sure and everything I am doing seems to be correct..
I made this video to show the problem I am having since I installed this New York 1 trigger spring..

Searching on the internet with my problem, I have only found one person having the same issue and this is the response he got.
    This is normal.
The firing pin SHOULD be foreward no matter what spring or connector you have in the gun. The firing pin only resets after the slide cycles.
With the NY-1 trigger, you have to hold the trigger to the rear when you remove the slide.

This post was made 7 years ago on a forum.. Not sure why I have not seen this issue mentioned anywhere else..
Very annoying when I'm not expecting this issue.. I can live with it now knowing that I have to pull the trigger back again while I attempt to slide the slide off after its already unlocked from the frame..

That is normal when you install an NY-1 or 2 trigger. You just have to learn to live with it. The NY spring is placing upwards pressure on the cruciform that catches on the underside of the frame. Don't worry about it.

The NY springs do the same in all generations.

Really? When I have my ny1 installed I have to squeeze the trigger to get the slide release.

    You must be extra special.

The problem you have, is that you put an ny-1 trigger spring in your gun.

    In all seriousness, its normal.

As my first Glock had an old style NY1 spring in it when I bought it new twenty years ago, I thought that you had to hold the trigger back to field strip ALL Glocks.

Ya know, I was gonna mention that! Maybe pulling the trigger to get the slide off with the NY1 trigger spring is the least of the OP's problems...? :wow:
