So I get my new to me glock 23 today from summit. nice gun. well worht the money.

I compared it to my 89 vintage 19 and notice it does not have a rear spring in it. Is this normal for newer glocks?

it does not seem to affect function.

Do you mean it doesn't have a triger spring? If not, it might have a NY or NY+ style trigger spring, which look different. Does it have an orange or gray part in there?

You can change it out to the standard type yourself pretty easily.
