I have a glock 23 w/357 sig barrell, should i put an aftermarket spring and stainless guide rod 20 or 22 lbs on it? If so would i be ok to put the 40 barrell back on it and use the 20 or 22 springs on it????

Why not the stock spring ?
why not the stock spring ?
figure it might help the frame out from the 357 recoil

The G-19, G-23, and G-32 all use a stock 18# recoil spring. The 9mm and .40S&W cartridges are both 35,000 psi pressure where the .357sig is 40,000 psi.

I use a Wolff 20# spring and stainless steel guide rod in my G-32. It's noticeably reduced the muzzle flip so I assume you'd get the same results from essentially the same gun.

And as you say, the stiffer spring helps reduce the frame battering. You should be able to use the same spring assembly for the .40S&W.

Thanks for the help I may try a 20# spring
I see no reason you can't do what you suggested.
