Just picked up this Glock 23, Generation 3 pistol with Norfolk Southern Police markings on the right side of the slide. Does anyone know any history of these pistols (mine was made in 2000). This is the first Glock I've seen with non-factory markings. These are probably not rare, but it does put a different twist on Glock collecting!

    Pretty cool.

They aren't necessarily desired, but they are technically rare considering how many non NSP marked Glocks there are.

The rest of the gun looks like any standard Gen 3 Glock 23; those on the frame are the only unique markings, and it does have the 3 dot night sites on it. It was apparently made in 2000 (ser. # DVVxxx). The guy I bought it from said he acquired it from a special agent with the Norfolk Southern Railroad. I just thought it would be a neat collectible to have since my grandfather worked for the railroad as a brakeman. But I also plan on shooting it some tomorrow!

They got new Gen4 23's now. I never noticed there's were marked. They had about 200 agents in 2000 but more like 75 now.

    I think it's neat.

I wouldn't pay more for it. But I think it's neat.

I'd consider that rare. I'm sure there isn't many of those available. Pretty cool. I'd like to have it myself.

Well, I originally bought this as a collectible. But after I shot it the other day and got sub-2inch groups at 25 yards, I figure this baby would be a keeper even without the logo! I paid $460 for the gun, and since that's the going rate for regular model 23's with nitesites, I figured that was a fair deal.
