    Hi Guys,

I have a Glock 23 and 27 and will purchase a Lone Wolf 40-9 conversion barrel soon. I was wondering if it is ok to use the the LW barrel designed for the 23 in the 27? and if so is it advisable to use the one barrel in both pistols whenever I want to shoot 9mm?

I think it would probably work fine, just wanted to ask.

**edit* - I do plan to run 9mm mags in them, thanks guys.

The barrel in the 23 should function as an extended length barrel for the 27. Also keep in mind that many report that 9 mm mags are required even though you can supposedly use the 40 mags.

    Regards, GMB

I used a longer G34 barrel in my old G22 without problem before I traded for my G27. Now I have a LWD 40-9 conversion for it.

I think the 19 & 26 barrels are compatible but don't have the same barrel lugs as the 17 & 34 barrels.

For a while I was shooting IDPA ESP with the 27/26 supplementing my 9mm mags using .40 mags loaded with 9mm. I shot several weeks of "classifier practice" using that set up without issue. (Eventually I got a G17 so I could do SSP.)

The 9mm rounds sat a little high in the .40 mags, but functioned OK.

    Absolutely.
    I have Storm Lake G27 3.46" and G23 4.02" 9mm conversion barrels
for my gen 3 G27. They both work just fine.

BTW you can do the same thing with a G32 barrel and mag turning both your guns into 357 Sig as well!

I read alot about barrels that can interchanged but what about the the recoil springs as well. Do you need to change out springs when changing barrels as well. I've seen alot of plus and minus's on this topic.

    The gen 3 G26 9mm, G27 40 and G33 357 Sig all use the same RSA.

    I have a G27
and shoot all three calibers without issues using the factory OEM RSA.

You can run into trouble if you run light (115 gr), low powered, cheapo 9mm ammo. As they may not produce enough power to run the slide.
If you insist on running low powered ammo then a lighter RSA may be needed.

Use quality 124 gr full power 9mm ammo and you should be trouble free.

Would that apply to Gen4's as well. I'm looking at 23 Gen4, thanks

Barrel will function fine in both pistols, but it might make the 27 harder to carry concealed...I finally broke down and ordered the shorter barrel for my G33...now both my G33 and 32 can be used with 9mm at the same time.
