Glock 23. .40 ammo is being manufactured for whatever reason at staggering rates right now. Surplus will be on the market in time. To me, the 23 is the best all around Glock made all things considered.

I have a G22 for home defence and the range and G27 for concealed carry. I could get by with a G23 for both and saved some $$, but where is the fun in that. I like having the smaller one for carry.

Let me try to rephrase that: You are a newbie here and would like some comments about Glocks that interest you. You have shot a compact sized G23, but are also interested in the subcompact g27 and g30. Is that about right?

I like both calibers- the .40 & the .45 but prefer the .45 GAP to the .45 ACP. It has a more comfortable grip but the same ballistics as the longer cartridge. I still prefer my G27 (.40 caliber) for self defense & home defense, but am trying to improve with my compact G38.

You could always pose the question to Mas Ayoob on the GATE section of the forum. Having owned all three platforms, I can say that all work well and I like all them and found each to work as advertised - none is a bad choice.

I think that it comes down to what you value in a carry or self-defense handgun. Max concealment? Firepower/more ammo? Caliber preference? Defense against large animals? Find the feature that best benefit your lifestyle and vocation.

Both the 27 and the 23 allow for use of the two most popular calibers (9mm and 40 S&W) with only a mag and barrel switch. They also lend themselves to a wider variety of carry styles
Since they a narrower than the G30. Good luck and hopefully, you can try before you buy.

for an all aroung Glock the 23 does it all. the ammo availability is endless and most of all come in so many configurations to suit any need. it was my first Glock. if I had only one this would be it. shortly after I bought a 27. for carry the 27 is hard to beat.

The G30 has always been my favorite Glock. No matter what I did with the other models I had (sell, trade), I've always had a G30 on my hip. I had a G23 at one time and sold it after about a year. I've thought about getting a G27 but I bought a Gen 4 G21 instead.

I started with the 22 as my duty weapon and for home defense. I just bought a 27 as a back up gun and for ccw. You could go with a 23, but different situations call for different Glocks.

I chose a 23 as my primary carry weapon because to me its the completepackage. Full hand grip, good stopping power, available ammo, and sufficientmag capacity.

The 30 is the best Glock

I own a 27 as well and like it a lot too. Can't really go wrong with either... Sooner or later you will own more than one.

My sentiments exactly. Carries compact with stock 13 rd mag, or makes great home defense gun with G22 15 rd mags and rail light. I have the 27 also for shorts and baggie shirt.

If you decide to get a G27, get one used. They are very popular on the used market because people don't like them enough to keep them. Hey... just being objective here, for whatever reason a used G27 is usually available. It is a good gun but I consider the G23 to be a better purchase.

    I have all 3 plus the G36

The 23 and 27 are complementary to each other. The advantage of the 40 is the conversion to 9mm or 357 Sig. Recoil is manageable by many. The 23 holds 13+1 whereas the 27 does 9+1. Both are easily concealable. 40 S&W ammo is relatively plentiful.

The 30 is a great Glock pistol. 10+1 rounds of 45 ACP that can accept a Glock 21 Magazine. Recoil is easily manageable. This is concealable, but when loaded to the hilt, it requires a strong belt to keep the pants up. 45 ACP ammo is harder to find in bulk, these days.

The Glock 36 is only a single stack 45 ACP with a capacity of 6 or 7 + 1. It is about the length and width of a G19/23.

If I had to do it again, And I could only purchase one, then the 27 is the best choice for concealment, ammo availability and ability to accommodate for larger magazines.

    This is an enormous weapon.

I have added one more question. The question is like something below:

Can I know that Is it sound to consider that a Glock 30 model could dependably for the following:

    1. Be a solid defense gun?
    2. Am I taking into consideration these as an all-around gun?

    Help me think on this:
