I fired my glock 22c today for the first time. It would fire one round and then the slide would lock back. I could release the slide and then it would load another round, fire and then lock back again. I tried two magazines (1 15rd, 1 10rd) using federal FMJ factory ammo. Same thing with both magazines. Any thoughts on that is going on?

Your thumb(s) are probably pressing the slide stop lever up (assuming a right hand shooter). I'd start there.

If you have had the slide stop lever out, then it is incorrectly reinstalled.

I dont think that is the case. Is there a spring that holds the release lever down that maybe is missing or fatigued?

Does the slide lock back with the mag out of the pistol when you cycle the slide?

Page 39 of your owner's manual.

    9. SLIDE STOP LEVER TEST. Pull upward on the slide stop lever and release. The lever should snap down sharply into the frame. If the lever is sluggish, or remains in the upward position, refer the pistol to GLOCK, Inc. or a GLOCK-certified Armorer.

It seems a little sloppy compared to my g35 but there is some spring tension.

Two weeks ago I was SO for an IDPA stage and a shooter had the same symptom. Every round slide locked back. After 5 rounds he stopped. Unload and show clear. He left took it apart and stated the slide stop was installed incorrectly and it was fine the rest of the day. My money is on that.

Is the wire from the slide stop under the top pin?

I don't see the spring at the top of the slide stop lever. Can you take the same picture but with the grip of the pistol pulled more to you? Like you are looking toward the muzzle of the pistol but keep the slide stop lever in the shot.

I am trying to take the top pin out so I can detail strip the pistol. Can it come out from either side? Mine appears to be slightly bent and does not want to come out.
