Hi everyone, I just picked up a G22 yesterday and I have a stupid question,

I own 4 other glocks but all 9's, this is my first glock going up in size, I got a real good price from a guy that I bought it from,

Ive read on more than one board about the side blowing off the thing, and Im curious if this is something I have to worry about, Since I dont have the experience with this model, I was hoping for some help,

since I got a great buy on it, Should I pass this one down the line and just go into a 45, I was planning on just playing at the range with it, Just using it as a beater gun, since it was cheap,

Just curious on your thoughts, am I just being paranoid about reading too far into this...

    thanks Jim

?? Not sure what you mean by this?
But the gun doesn't cause a KaBoom if that's what your asking. Bad ammo does. And bad ammo will take out any gun.

If you are worried, pull the barrel out, put a round in and check to see if the case is fully supported as it should be. If not, then just don't reload the cases you shoot and you'll be fine. This is what I have heard caused the problems.

Go enjoy your 22. In the early days of the .40 there were a few issues but in the last 5 years I have shot nothing but my .40 cal glock with no issue. I have gone through literally thousands of rounds between compititions, practice, etc. If you reload dont go crazy stupid on loading them hot. Stay under 1100 fps and you will be fine.

Enjoy your new G22. Nothing to worry about.
(Except running out of ammo. My G22 is quite the ammo hog. It doesn't like sharing ammo with my G27)

Thanks guys, Just got back from the range and ran 100 through it, I guess I was just being parnoid, I would like to keep it, just as a fun gun to play with, and I dont have that much in it,

just wanted a second thought, I kinda felt the question was crazy, Its a glock, more or less wanted to get it off my chest, didnt know if I should keep it or send it down the line, Its got more kick then the 9's but still fun to play with,

Its way to big to conceal, but would be a nice truck gun, or on a nightstand.

Thanks for the Help. I do feel better about it..Jim

I have two G 22's ,one ten years old and one 6 years old, with thousands of rounds through them. All they do is shoot, shoot and shoot, you are worrying about something needlessly,Enjoy. SJ 40

Again bad ammo causes the KB not the gun. The chamber support will yield to more destruction if a KB happens, but it's not a cause.

No. The G22 is very easy to carry. Especially IWB.

I agree. I carry my G17 IWB; it is the same size gun.

You could always throw a .357 sig bbl. in there. Not a bad investment for yet another round to play with.

Thanks for the Help on the carry guys, But its hot in the south, I have (2) 19's and (2) 26's to choose from for the carry point....All the way down to the Ruger Lcp...

I bought the gun basically on price, Just couldnt pass that up, Mint cond, I figured I can always get my money out of it, and it was fun playing with a bigger gun for the glock's,

I guess I read too much, Basically a lurker, Im on here every day going over the boards, reading on what I can do better, and was just worried about the G22 having problems,

    thanks again Jim

Cull your cases as well. Stick with the higher quality brass from companies like Winchester, Federal and Speer.
I have reloaded for years on a Dillon 1050,550 and RCBS Rock Chunker. I never had a problem until I started loading for Glocks. A-Merc brass on both occasions.

Needless to say, I get rid of every piece I can find.
Glock did improve the chamber support for the .40 calibers several years back.
