I am curious about 357SIG so I bought a barrel for my G22. My question is do I need to replace or convert any other parts to accomodate any sort of extended shooting of 357SIG from the G22 frame? Is the conversion barrel-only set up sufficient to handle a 357 SIG round like DoubleTap which looks to be really powerful? Thanks ahead of time for the input.

Everything is good as is IF your frame is Gen3. Most Gen2 frames lack the added steel reinforcement required to safely use .357Sig ammo.

to confirm the generation 3 frame, my glock has the finger grooves and the light rail. is there any difference between the g22 and g31 frames/platforms?

In the 3rd gen they are the same.

I bought a Federal Arms ported barrel when they were available; and an original equipment .357 Glock barrel for a price i could not pass up - i sent my G22 with the new barrel to Georgia for factory fitting just to be safe.

Just drop in a Glock 31 barrel and you're off to the races. Your Glock 22 magazines will probably work, but if not, just buy a couple of Glock 31 mags.

I did this conversion on my Glock 22, it worked fine. I did end up buying some Glock 31 mags; but my G22 mags worked fine.

Glock Inc official policy is to convert current production (FGR) frames only. You wont have any problems using your 3rd gen gun and you do not have to send the barrel to anybody to be fitted.

FYI: We have plenty of customers that convert their 2dn gen guns with no ill side effects.
