The Glock 21 offers 13 + 1 of 45 acp, no compromise between caliber and capacity.
I removed the finger grooves (protrusions), installed Truglo TFO sights, a steel striker, and cast extractor.
I'm carrying it appendix IWB in a Fist kydex clip-on holster, more comfortable and concealable than I expected.
    Chrono averages I obtained:
    Federal Hydra-Shok 230 gr. @ 846 fps / 367# KE
    Winchester Ranger T 230 gr. @ 931 fps / 443# KE
    Federal Hydra-Shok 185 +P @ 1,060 fps / 462# KE
    Remington Golden Saber 185 +P @ 1,069 fps / 470# KE

Love my 21. I don't shoot it very often and haven't carried it, but it makes a great range/house gun.

Looks good, if I were to go G21 again I would make it a SF.
    Congrats! ;-)

Is the grip thickness of the 21 Gen 4 with no back strap the same as the 21 SF ?

Well, actually it is a compromise of power and capacity. You can have a Glock with 15 round magazines rather than 13 and handles 200 gr hollow point loads at 1255fps or 180gr from 1200 to 1300fps:supergrin:

I'd like to have another G21 (had a pair of non SF's a while ago) just to do a couple conversions with it. I took the finger grooves and texture off my G41's, including the rear straps....smooth as a baby's bottom right up until I put skateboard tape where the junk Glock texture was.

I have an entire collection of the G-21 Series from a standard G-21 thru the G-21 Gen 4 and I love each one as much as the other the toughest problem is trying to decide if I have one I like over another. It is hard to tell since they all are such great shooting Pistols. I would have to say it was the G-21 SF that really opened the G-21 series up to more shooters with the more useful back strap to trigger reach measurements. now I carry both the G-21 Gen 4 and G-30 Gen 4 models. of all the Glocks I have collected the G21 series I would never sell or trade off. I started out with .9mm and advanced thru the .40's to the .45 Acp and even with all the craze about the .9mm these days I can not bring myself to go backwards. as like the saying goes when it comes to self defense and when your life may come to be on the line there's no compromise carry the best> G-21 .45 Acp .

I never tried the Truglo TFO sights until I put them on my Glock 43, was happy with the choice.
They are easy for my eyes to acquire and I like the green front / yellow rear contrast.
Went with the same sights on the 21.
