Hi, I'm looking for some opinions here. I want my next purchase to be a glock in 45 ACP. I don't necessarily need it as a carry piece as I already have a glock 26 and Kahr CW45. I really like 45 and obviously Glock makes one of the best guns available. My dilemma is which one to get. I would appreciate any pro's and cons to each. Capacity is not a big concern to me and is a clear difference, so I will say that is not a factor in my decision.

I have both and I like the glock 30 much better. I shoot it better and it handles better for me. But that is just me. The glock 21 is just a very large gun...

Any issues with the magazine pinching your pinkie finger on the 30? I have heard that from others but holding one I don't feel like that would happen while shooting but maybe while doing a fast reload.

I have both, and I'd choose the G30 if I could only have one.

That finger pinching mostly comes from aftermarket magazine basepads that add more rounds.

I've never been pinched by the original G30 magazines.

With me the pinkie pinch is with the pinkie extension mags.
A flush mag and no problemo.

Both are good guns and some folks favor one over the other.
Try to borrow/rent both and figure it out for yourself.

When you talk about the pinkie mag extensions are you talking about the factory mags that come with it or aftermarket extensions?

I get my pinky pinched by G30 with both OEM 9 & 10 rounds magazines (no extension) but it does not hurt any more since skin got thicker.

I prefer the G30 over the G21, but with a CBC grip reduction, the G21 would be awesome (have a G20 with a grip reduction by CBC :)). If I didn't already have a XD45 that I liked alot better than a G21, then I'd most likely have a G21 too.

I currently have and EDC a Glock 21sf. I love this pistol, but my next Glock will be a 30sf. Mostly for carry, but I hear they're great all around.

Shop around and see which one you can get the best deal on and buy it. Then save for the other. After a while, you're going to want both anyway.

Love my 30sf and have never been pinched. Mas Ayoob rates it very highly, also.

THE ultimate .45ACP CC gun. :)

BTW, it has a LaserMax laser guide rod in it as well. :)

This is a good thing. I own both and the 21 is just more of a great thing. If they told me I could only keep 1, I would tell them to KISS MY A_ _ and keep them both anyway.

I have both models, and if carry is not really an issue, I'd recommend a G21 Gen4. I also have a G21 Gen3, but the Gen4 model is really much better. No malfunctions whatsoever. As a side note, the Gen3 model has a Crimson Trace laser attached, and stands watch as my nightstand pistol. The Gen4 is for fun!
