I have been reading the 10mm Ring for a few months now, and I am convinced and excited about getting a 10mm. My only choice is if I should get a compensated one or not. I have a G22C, and I like it. I also have a regular G21, and I like that also. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of the 20 and the 20C?

If you get the 20c, you can always get a non-comp barrel and then you will have both!

That is what I did with my 22C. Adds versatility.

I can't speak from experience but I have read that the 20c is alot louder and when shooting at night the flash is extremely bright.

Or, you can get a non-comp'ed model 20 then get an extended comp'ed barrel for it (the versatility works both ways). I personally don't care for them for many reasons (you can find them by reading back a month or so). But, it matters little what I think, you'd be the one buying and shooting it so get what YOU want.

I got the 20C and in retrospect I realize I should have gotten a non-compensated one. The compensator makes night sights worthless, so I need a non-comped one. I'm gonna get a 20 without a compensator sometime before 2005 is over.

Thank's for all of the feedback. I think I am going to go with the 20 non compensated with some mods.

If you end up in an awkward defensive position theres a chance of getting a face full of hot gas. I never really considered that until it was pointed out, and Glock doesn't even recommend "c" models for defensive shooting.

I shoot and carry a 20C and there are advantages and disadvantages to the 20C.

Personnaly,..and not to be arguementative w/others that have posted info,..I think the advantages out weigh the disadvantages.

...recommend that you take an opportunity to shoot them both, ideally @ an indoor range, where the light settings can be changed, so you can feel and see what the weapon does.

    Its a G-20C for me.

Soon I will purchase a G20 barrel soon for versatility.

You will obviously lose some velocity with the 20C. I've read a post in the Big Dawgs club where someone posted results for .45-Super using a G21C and a G30 and the velocities were almost identical. This means you will end up with about the same velocity as a G29. I've only got a G29, but if I ever buy a G20 it will definitely be a non-comped one for some extra speed.

That is 100% false. you loose a whopping 20fps! My 180gr@1450fps instead of 1470 fps is not causing me to loose any sleep.

Wow! What kind of load is that? It makes DoubleTap look like 'FBI Lite'.
