I currently own a 17 and love it, but i'm looking into getting a more of CCW for hiking, business trips, and plinking of course. Should i stay with the 9mm and have 2 of them or move up to the 40. cal? Any questions or comments would be great. thx

i love my G23c, but if you have a G17, i'd lean towards the G19c, you can use your G17 mags and your ammo is all the same.

If you could take it back would you get the 19c instead of the 23c?

I would go with the 19 if you dont have one, The g19 is a must have if you own any glock,

:bluesbrothers:Neither. I'm glad my 23c got stolen. I shot both the 19c and 23c's this weekend and the flash out of the top started to get annoying. When I shot my 23 there was almost no difference and I was glad I didn't have the v shaped blast to deal with.

Get a 23, screw all the C stuff. My reasoning about the 23, is that you will have another caliber, and could have yet another by getting a 357sig barrel. I Don't like compensated glocks, but thats me

G23C or G23 w/ conversion barrels is the way to go IMO.

I have a 23C for my EDC, and a 9mm drop in barrel.
Since you already have a 17, stick to the same caliber, and get the 19C.

With over 8k rounds through my 'C' model, I couldn't be happier with it. The 'flash' isn't bad, and my J frame is much worse.

There are no flash or "blast" issues with the c models, not with quality ammo, anyway. Either will do fine, as long as you practice with it.
