Hey guys I probably look like a noob asking this, but what is the difference between the G19 RTF and the G19 RTF2. Pics would be appreciated if available.

RTF2 was developed, due to law enforcement request for a more aggressive finish to use in wet/humid enviroments.

So the rtf is just the standard gen 3, while the rtf2 is the one they made specifically with rougher grip?

I've only owned an RTF2, but I've handled plenty of the regular styles and I gotta say; I couldn't imagine NOT owning an RTF2.

I read somewhere Glock interchanges RTF and RTF2 why would the std finish be called RTF (rough textured finish)?

The 3rd Gen frame is considered from what I've read by GLOCK to be RTF.

You are correct sir. The normal Gen3 guns have what Glock calls the rough textured finish (RTF) to distinguish it from the previous generation guns. The RTF2 "polymids" differentiate that model from the normal Gen3's.

As I recall the RTF version had a rougher texture on the slide, no changes to the frame.

    Am I right?

No The original RTF was a 22rtf. Gen 3's are just what they are Gen 3's. After they came out with RTF's 22 and 17 they then came out with RTF2 which then included 19 and 23.

Absolutely incorrect. Here is a picture which include my 19 RTF with standard slide serrations and RTF frame. This is how it came from the factory, matching #s and all.
