It seems like the perfect CCW to me. Has all the options including a new non-razor-sharp mag well. Not my gun but worthy of serious consideration! GLOCK_19_GEN_5_MOS_2__60692.1558820198.jpeg

Now I wonder how it compares to my CZ P07 Compact. Pretty much the same size. IMG_9028.JPG

Better ergonomics on the CZ (and I like Glocks) but I shoot my Glock much better than I shot my P07 even in SA.

Just ordered a Vortex Venom and plan to see if I like the whole red dot thing.

But this is finally a Glock 19 that I like, and shoot it very well, easily comparable to some of my favorite 1911s and Sig 226 SAO. It's fully replaced all of them as EDC, love the weight and size of the 19, always have.

My main complaint is a Gen 5 issue in that the new Marksman barrel is more picky about ammo than Glocks have built a reputation for so I had to go back to loading 124 FMJ RN for my range ammo instead of the JHP I had been using in my Valkyrie. Sad fact that a Glock is more picky about ammo than a 9mm 1911, of all things

Thanks for your valuable response. I'm really thinking it's the perfect Glock!

I personally prefer the longer grip for shooting, the 19x is my absolute favorite. But it IS just THAT MUCH heavier and more difficult to conceal and the 19.5 MOS shoots just as well (just not as comfortably in the hand). Now that it's flannel and sweatshirt weather I'll probably carry the 19x more, especially as I determine if I want the RDS on the 19 (and haven't yet invested in sights and new holster)

What do you mean “picky” about ammo?

My P07 is harder to do a tap-rack-bang on because the slide rides inside the frame leaving less to grab. Also, the POA is a six o’clock hold and all of my Glocks wear POA/POI sights.

Wide meplat bullets loaded longer than typical JHP length. Specifically by 19x didn't like 147 grain flat points loaded to 1.12" and the 19.5 MOS light strikes badly on my RMR "multi purpose" 124 gr JHP loaded to 1.12". My 1911, Sig 226, Gen 3 and 4 Glocks, Beretta APX all run those just fine.

Runs typical factory JHP and FMJ round nose just fine.

G19.5.jpeg I don't know if it is the perfect CCW for me or not yet, but I own one and really like it a lot. I don't know if I'll use the MOS feature. Purchased the G19.5 MOS to get away from the cut out and also thinking I may add an RMR at some point later. I also own a G19X and am leaning toward guns sans finger grooves. My current EDC is a G27.3 and our house gun is a G22.4. I prefer .40, but time will tell. Liking the cheap practice ammo, without having to load it myself.

Just put a deposit on a Gen 5 19 with front serations(no magwell cutout). I had the 19.5 but the cutout pinched my finger when I used the Gen 5 magazines.

Not sure about a RDS yet, I told the owner of my LGS that that was a 2020 project.

I own a gen 5 mos and a p07 both are great guns but I would not consider either ccw guns at this time. G43 or 48. Sig 365 or hellcat. All way more comfortable for 12 hours at work

Love it. IMG_3848.JPG Got a X300u on it now. About the same weight.
Laser on the olight is interesting to show how much movement when dry firing in house.
Been practicing with range belt rig. But will CC pretty easy. If I take off the light it fits all
    my IWB holsters.

I thought all Gen.5's had the breech cutout?

I believe all G45's had the breech cutout? Please correct me if I am wrong.

I believe so as well. But earlier Gen 5 guns don't. 19X doesn't have it either, IIRC.

The 19 Gen5 MOS does have the breech face cutout, I am fairly certain all of them have it as it came out after the cut was introduced. That pistol is an excellent platform and versatile as heck with the MOS, rail, forward serrations, no finger cutouts and flared magwell along with being a 19 and 9mm. Covers about all of the bases.
