    Hi All,

Based on quite a few posts here it seems some shooters are having
problems with their G19's (whatever the nature/cause). On the other
hand I find no real issues with the models 17 or 26.
This is NOT a trick question. I would just like some understanding of
this issue. Also I do not find this issue with the other caliber
Glocks. Is this real or more Glock hater myth ?

    Thanks,

    John

    Just to re-hash (again):

There is a problem with the G19 when using 10rd mags with 2183 followers.I also suspect weak mag springs.
This came to light after Glock slightly modified the barrel geometry on the G19.
It is 100% fixable as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, that is exactly what I've been reading. Which is it and why did
    Glock(if they did)make mods to only the G19 ?
My Dads 2nd Gen. M19 still functions 100% - I can't make the thing miss a beat. Still puzzled.

This has been covered many, many, many, many times recently.
Use the search function and look up "2183" you will find hours of reading.
Not all G19s are affected, apparently it is from around E-series on.

A couple members had problems with HP ammo even after switching followers and couldn't get their 19's to run HP at all.

If they are stock Glocks,I'd be willing to bet two boxes of Krispy Kremes that I could make them work in a matter of minutes.

Slide weight will have something to do with it, too. The compacts rely more on recoil spring force than slide inertia to make things work than the full-size guns. Not much difference sure, but generally I've found full-size handguns less prone to FTF than their compact counterparts. Also, light power factory loads in 9mm are generally more common - than in the other (Glock) calibers - which work against a heavier recoil spring in the compacts.

Xminor, I was skeptical at first(still am but to a lesser degree) but it was hashed out in Gen Glocking and they tried everything including different followers, having an experienced shooter try the gun and ammo. Some of those guys went to considerable exspense and trouble only to sell their 19 in the end. Some Glocks, a very small percentage, do fail. The pics of the old 19 vs new 19 barrel comparisons got my attention, the new style defenitely relies alot more on the feed ramp during cycling.

I won't be buying a 19 anytime soon, I'll stick with the 17. But then I don't need or carry one so the decision was easy.

I have a 19C and it goes bang every time with out fail, unless I let my girl Friend try and it jam's half the time, she has a loving touch but a little to light for the Glock..

never had a hicup with my g19 with any mag or ammo config. The guys that are having problems are prolly limp wristing.
