Depends on how bad you want to do it. You can bend the feed lips outward slightly. You'll want a gap of about .370 between the feed lips to cycle .40 rounds properly. Most of my .40 mags measure .370-.373. If you decide to do it, be careful that the gap is equal down the length of the lips and remove any burrs with fine sand paper. I've used a pair of pliers to do this by inserting both the jaws (still closed) and twisting slowly to force the lips outward. Don't know how the 9mm follower will perform either and I'm not telling you to mod you mag unless you want to do it.

I would definately switch out the follower, but thanks for the advice. I am testing it out on an old G17 mag before I try it on the G18 mag. Thanks again.

Change to a 40 follower and open the feed lips to .360-370 and it should work.

Thanks, I picked one of the mags up for 40.00 and the shop has more, is this a decent price for the 31rd mags?

The last batch I bought were $25 each.

    Where in VA are you?

Ive got a son at VMI, I pass through your neck of the woods often during the school year. Do you get your mags through a local dealer or online?

Let me know the next time you are this way and we will go shooting.

There is a range on 608 10 minutes north of BV and a range just outside of Staunton on 250.

I bought the mags on line. Will see if I can dig up the receipt.

I will be in F'burg on the 29th of June for a class.

I put in a .40 follower and opened up the lips on a new G18 mag with the +2 Glock extension. The best I could get was 16 to 17 rounds in it. About half way down the mag it swelled out pretty bad and could not get anymore rounds into it.

when a standard 40 cal mag holds 15 that doesn't even sound worth the trouble

Exactly, and with the Glock +2 on there you get 17. Just wish I knew why it swells up half way down.
