Heres one of those things that is so obvious I'm going to regret asking about it but, here goes...........I own a 19. When I see pictures of 17's they seem to have a half round cut-out on the bottom of the grip just above the magazine end plate on the lower front of the grip. Why is this on the 17? Why not on the 19? Thank you

That's where the pinky goes on a G19, but not on a G17, since the grip is longer.

I'm still not clear what the cut-out is for. I see your point on why the 17 has it(longer grip) than the 19(shorter grip) but do not see why the 17 has it in the first place?

It was so you could have something to grab onto on the mag. when they did not drop free.Instead of trying to pull it out by pulling the mag. base plate.

Thats what I thought they were for. I have a problem with my pinkie getting pinched by the 19 magazines. My hands are XXL so I was wondering if putting that cut in my 19 frame if it would give a relief spot for pinkie clearance?
