I just purchased a used Glock 17 L and am a little disappointed with the accuracy at 25 yards-using a 25 yd pistol target. My new Glock 23 seems more accurate even with the shorter barrel!

I will admit that the pistol was really dirty at the first firing session.
After quite a bit of serious cleaning, it did seem better though.

Any suggestions on the ammunition to be used on this pistol?
    I was using a 115 grain bullet.

Any thoughts and suggestions will be appreciated.
    Thanks:soap:

My 17L was not the best at first. It was throwing some rounds high at 25 yards. I thought it was me.
The barrel was not locking up the same for every shot. It would stop with the chamber hood just below the top of the breach face in the slide, causing some rounds to sail very high at 50 yards.
I started applying lithium grease to the breach face and putting lots of rounds down range to break it in.
    Now it shoots very well.
147 grain ammo seems to shoot best so far.

yep, try shooting 147 gr or 124 gr ammo, should help. Also a real good cleaning, try soaking the barrel overnight in a bowl of copper solvent followed by soaking in a powder solvent, should help matters as well.
