The first Glock I ever shot was a G17 and I didn't like it. Years passed, and then I got to handle a G19 and liked it much better and I liked it so much that was the first Glock I bought. The size is just right for the caliber and it's good in 40 and 357 Sig caliber as well. But I've never warmed up to the G17, G22, or the G31. The only full size Glocks I like are the G20 and G21.

I really like the G45 and for a full sized pistol to be carried OWB, and I like it better than either the 19 or the 17. I just wish they'd make one in 40 and 357 Sig

I have 350,000 rds through mine and have been in numerous tourneys with all sorts of famous people. Oh......wait. That wasn’t me, I am surprised the man hasn’t told us all about it.

    Glock 17 is great.

Darn, I guess that’s going to have to be a range toy because it is riding just on the edge of catastrophic failure with the decreased slide velocity. Doomed never to be utilized for “serious” use. And don’t even mention the noise! Wait, what’s that? I couldn’t hear you over the .357 Sig being fired in the next stall.

It works. I won't argue that. But I think the G19 is a more versatile weapon, given that it's a better CCW weapon, and still quite a good duty weapon (there are a few ten thousand in NYPD holsters alone.)

But also, the basic Glock design has gotten old, and I think there are some other guns (thinking specifically about the M&P 2.0 line), that offer more features and better ergonomics for the money.

While I am neither a Glock or 9mm fan, it’s hard to argue against the 9mm and 45acp 100 year + history of being able to kill folks. Kind of makes these newcomers seem untested. I’d hardly call it marginal.

    True.

But many simple things actually look good: Shaker furniture, a sundress, a lean-to, etc. Even a crowbar looks better.

I guess there's utter simplicity and then there's ugly simplicity.

In a gun that size, I'd take .40 over either (for LE duty or HD against human attackers.) But that's a different thread (and there've been many.)

.40 and 45 are my current choices in the Sig P series and .40 in Beretta 96 platforms. Point being I’m not going to declare something marginal which is used by a majority of the world’s military forces and been getting the job done for a long time.

Still the best GLOCK pistol made, maybe. (Some G21 fans might disagree with you on that.)

But it’s been eclipsed by pistols from other manufacturers. Beretta APX, for instance, is significantly better.

The 17 fits my hand great and I like the capacity. Although I’m not a 9mm fan and favor more powerful calibers, I’m quite comfortable with carrying a 9mm with the right ammo.

You literally bring up how weak 9mm is in every single post no matter how unrelated it is to the subject. For the love of God stop. It's obnoxious

I would have to say the 17 was Adam and the 22/31 became the rib later known as “Eve”.

Fortunately I’m not a slave to caliber especially those arm chair Goat Herders.

I still have (3) 17’s and (40) Hi cap mags. The 17’s now are adorned by Stream light TLR 7’s and occupy residence on (3) floors.... (1) per floor.

The Platform of the 17/22/31 has the best fit to hand but not perfect for the Glock Knuckle yet.

Glock and GSSF gave special consideration to the 17, not so to the 22/31....19/23/32. Cannot help the factoid of history....unfortunately the other models have no special category of participation.

Emperor(ADAM), I wonder what Platform(s) would be deemed Queen?

They are not called tourneys (is that a golf term?), they are called matches. You would know that if actually shot any organized competition (which you don't). Maybe when you get past 2,000 rounds, but then you would have to stand up in front of 20 or so shooters in your squad and actually show them how you can shoot. People like you don't compete because they suck. Stick to your indoor range shooting at a box target and think you are good....

Yea, I've got six G17's, but only one has over 300K thru it.
