    why are the recoil springs look like there flattened?what are theymade out of? after takeing mine apart and cleaning it i got to wonder what they made all of those peices out of.jeeez,can i rely on this gun?

    GI uses the flat wound spring because they offer superior performance when compared to the round wound style.
    Yes the plastic guide rod is fragile when compared to the stainless versions.
