I posted an ad in the FTAGH forum here. Been moving to my new place this week and had planned on my dog going to a friends llama farm in Denton. Well they just backed out and I'm scrambling to find him a place to live. If anybody knows someone in the DFW area that can give Doc a loving home please pm or e-mail me at bno762@aol.com . Tell them I'll bring him over but they gotta not make fun of me if I have tears in my eyes:crying:. Link to the ad is in my sig line and pics are there.

He's 3y/o nuetered male, still has his dewclaws, no heartworms, no fleas or ticks, house broke, very loving to kids, and his people. I came home one day and my door was open...I thought oh crap Doc is gone... Walked in and he was sitn there watching the door waiting. Not sure if someone tried to break in or if one of the kids accidentally left it open. But was proud of him for guarding the door like that.

He's also protective of my wife and kids. The wife took him with her to pick up my son from school. She was waiting out front and said that some guy kept walking by her She noticed Doc kept himself between her and the guy. Said it was kinda funny but also nice to know he's watching out.

I've got stories like this where he's growled at a teenage boy that grabbed my daughters arm trying make her let him use her phone. Doc scared the crap out of the kid. He's never bit anyone and when kids are over and playing his great. Put your hands on them or act threateningly and he lets you know to stop.

I hope it works out for you. I was in a similar situation when I had to quickly adopt two dogs from a deceased family member. Well, the apartment manager did not like those dogs one bit and told me how it was strictly against policy. Imagine that!

Well, I did find a house to rent and now we own our home.

    Good luck to you.

I had to give a dog away once. We got a boxer puppy, then shortly after that my wife got pregnant. Well, closer to delivery date we made the decision that it might not be best to have a rambunctious dog in the house with a new born. If you know boxers, you know they're hyper. We were training him and all, but he was still pretty wild. We didnt have him 3 years like the OP, but still sad to see him go.

Lucky for us I knew someone who was looking for a second boxer to adopt, so we knew he was going to a good home.

omgosh, what a lovey puppy face!
I am not in my house in Phx much, and they have a stupid weight limit on "pets" at Jay's apartments - so even were we closer to Texas there's just no way. Damn! I wish I could get him over to my sister's in TKO Kali - she had to put her furryfuzzball to sleep just after I left the last time.

Oh man............. he's gorgeous and just a puppy still :crying:

My heart breaks for you for having to give you pup away. It must be a terribly hard thing to do.

Thanks y'all for looking..and yeah its been tough. It wasn't so bad when I knew he was goin to live on a buddies moms farm. I figured he would love it cause they raise llamas and my buddy lives down the road from them. Now I'm 2 days away from having all my stuff moved and the roofers and foundation people will be here this weekend to get to work on this place. I've been texting everybody I know and placing ads. Even talked to my exwife...well texted her. Just had a buddy say he might know someone. I had to let him know that I needed to know the people were ok. He texted back that he knew I was having a problem letting Doc go and he wouldn't suggest anything other than a nice home. So hopefull something come thru in a day or 2.

    Thanks for letting me vent.

See if a rescue organization can take him if you haven't already tried; I just googled and found this link, maybe they can connect you to someone who can take him; good luck.
