A variety of folks have posted pictures of guns with slides that have been drilled out to reduce weight. Who do y'all recommend to do this sort of work? What is the typical cost to have your slide lightened?

    Thanks...Millard

My G24C slide was drilled my a friend of mine who is a gun smith as an experiement. Not sure what the normal cost would be. This made my 24C slide basically the same weight as a G22 stock slide. It definately works with light target loads. I would definitely recommend letting a good gun smith do it who has the correct tools and knows guns.

Almost 50000 rds. in 3 years through a 17L, and approx 24 GSSF matches without any slide cuts at all. I have only used lighter springs with reduced loads to allow for functioning. Not saying that the slide isn't faster with the cuts, I've just never needed to cut up a Glock to have it work or win. ;)

TJC, those slide cuts are for us mere mortals.;f If I thought I could get 2 second runs on the plates, I might try it.
