Serious question: Anyone ever get their Glock blessed by a priest? Would you?

So Divine Intervention will grant you strength during your darkest moment, guide your bullets to smite your foes, that kind of thing?

I know that Orthodox priests will come and 'Bless the Baskets' parishioners bring on the Easter Services, and will also go through the parking lot, to bless the cars also, for safe driving. Just wondering if anyone here has approached the Church with a request for a 'Blessing of the Glock'?

Just asking, for those that believe...

<== Grew up Catholic and did not think your question needed to be qualified as serious:

I have to imagine a priest would amenable blessing your Glock, especially if you have a good rapport with him. I also imagine some priests would be reluctant to, but you would probably gather that if you know your priest at all. I say it's worth asking one to do it.

At the same time, I imagine you would do well to offer a small contribution to the Church for such services as well...

A priest once blessed a box of condoms for a hooker (she didn't want them to fail), I guess one would also bless a Glock, or any firearm for that matter. (His enumeration was $20.00 for the service to the condoms, and visa versa, but he declined citing lack of interest.)

(btw- true story, try not to flame me too hard.)

I would imagine so. The only thing I ever asked a priest to bless were holy medallions and such when I was a kid, and I didn't so much as tip him .

Once or twice, the priest visited the house to bless it when I was very young, and he joined us for dinner, which may have been beneficence for him akin to a cash contribution. A small offering for blessing the Glock would be appropriate in any case.

Are you planning on stopping there or are you going to include anointment of chicken blood by a Santeria shaman?
I wonder if you can still become ordained thru the mail or internet. If so this is gonna be my next con... I mean I believe I have a calling for blessing guns for $30 each. I've got a whole ritual, song, and dance at the end of which I collapse and speak in tongues. Then the glock is blessed.

I asked my pastor to bless my first two dogs when I got them as puppies. He had never done it before but has continued to do it for other people since. He also blessed my house when I bought it. That was also a first for him but he's done it some more since. I don't think I would have the courage to ask him to bless any (or all) of my guns. Something tells me he might not be too agreeable to that one.

P.S. I have never "paid" for any blessings I have requested.

i once took a trip down to a place called sulphur bottoms to go pig hunting, this place is half swampland and supposedly it's filled with all sorts of boogiemen and bad juju. the friend of mine that set up this trip has a buddy who's a minister and he came out to the meeting spot and insisted that we pray first and at least let him bless us before we headed off into the brush. i held up my .44 blackhawk and told him that i had the right hand of god already and chuckled. he looked me dead in the eye with a straight face and crossed my gun with holy water. i guess it worked cause we didn't see any boogiemen on that trip, but then again we didn't see **** that trip except each other, not even mosuitoes. lol
