What are your thoughts on this man. I know we might not agree on much politicly when he was kickin', but he has the most comedic geneious I have ever heard.

Absolutely my favorite comic. Very glad, very very glad I got to see him live before he died.
Politically I don't agree with a lot of comics, but they make me laugh.

I saw him live in the early 70's. It was the worst stand-up performance I've ever seen. He tried some new stuff early in the routine, and lost the audience. He tried to get us back, but never did. The kicker was when he took a break, on stage. He sat on a stool and drank a glass of water, never spoke a word for 10 minutes. He was booed for the last 5 minutes of his break, but it didn't seem to phase him.

I thought he was clever and produced real comedy from the most simple situations and words. His routine on "stuff" was the best.

"Everywhere you go, there you are."

I always enjoyed the guy. I even like his short-lived sit-com, later in his life. I believe it was on Fox. Eric

Bad politics, but one of the best comedians ever.

I Loved his routine on Religion.

His politics I didn't agree with, and towards the end of his life he was really nuts on his political views, but as a comedian I thought he was great.

Rufus: "Hi. Welcome to the future: San Dimas, California — 2688. And I'm telling you, it's great here. The air is clean. The water is clean. Even the dirt is clean! Bowling averages are way up. Minigolf scores are way down. And we have more excellent waterslides than any other planet we communicate with. I'm telling you, this place is great! But it almost wasn't. You see, 700 years ago, the Two Great Ones ran into a few problems. So now I have to travel back in time to help them out. If I should fail to keep these two along the correct path, the basis of our society will be endangered. Ah, but don't worry: it'll all make sense. I'm a professional."

I feel about him similar to how I feel about Louie CK. Do I agree most of the time on a political level? Nope. But it's brilliant, brilliant comedy.

Had a lot of fun listening to his early albums in high school with my friends, consuming substances which were not purchased legally.

Carlin had a unique way of looking at things that we all saw every day and come up with a totally different slant than anyone else. Even if you didn't agree with him politically, you still had to laugh at the way he saw it.
    Miss ya George.

My favorite Carlin shtick was his EXPANSION on his "7 words you can't say on TV". On one of his shows, he said he felt the work he had done on that sketch was somehow ... unfulfilled! He then whipped out a scroll, let it unroll to about two feet long, and proceeded to give his "Complete list of English profanity". He rattled off from the scroll for about eight minutes, including his reading over the credits for the show. Expanded my vocabulary tremendously!

I've yet to see anyone define religion and faith more accurately. A true genius who just happened to be funny. HH

    Good comedian, poor theologian.
