Just wondered if the earlier model Glock parts are interchangable in the Generation 4 models. I current have the 19 & 34 models.

    thanks,
    Dan

I sure had great luck with the earlier model Glocks. I may run and get me a Generation 3model as a spare. Just trying to decide between the 19 or 26 model.

Do the Generation 4 models have a unique serial number? Except for the grips, I can barely tell the difference.

it seems the Gen 4's are just continuing Glock's normal Alfa/Num sequence for serial numbers
The nose is different(little to none pig nose & different guide rod end) and GEN4 marked on the slide makes them pretty easy to spot

    Nice Glocks !!!

When I shot PPC with my Glock Model 19, I always had to make sure I never hit the magazine release at the wrong time since for some reason I always had my thumb resting on it. Maybe the new design is better from that aspect.

Ugh...the backstraps look so cheap when attached.

Move your thumb to a different location when shooting.

    Gotta agree with this assessment.

If I ever end up with one of these, there's gonna be a bit of "custom fitting" going on with those backstrap inserts. I'm thinking that exposed corner near the top would chew on a person's hand during recoil, even in the milder calibers. Plus, it just looks cheap-o/cheesy.

    Don't judge it until you've tried it...

It doesn't chew up your hand, cause Herpes, or your wife to leave you. Oh, but a friend of a friends cousin's father, was decapitated by a Glock slide.

    .....You can't even feel it.

Do the changes in the Generation 4 models enhance the functional performance of the firearm? The only time I had a problem with my earlier model Glock was when I went to an aftermarket barrel which jammed the gun. Now I am all factory Glock parts which are perfect.
