    Other than a conversion barrel, what else is needed? RSA and new ejector maybe? What about a new extractor? Will the 9mm magazines fit?

    Thanks

    I'm not sure about gen 4 guns?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Gen 3 Info for what it's worth:
    For gen 3 all you need is a 9mm mag and you're good to go.
    A G19 mag will work perfect.
    Have FUN!
    Try to stay away from 115 gr cheap low powered ammo
    as they my not have enough power to run the slide.
    If you do that you may need to reduce the power on the RSA.
    Run hot 124 gr ammo and you should be fine.
    I'd run everything factory to start with and see if you need to change anything.
    My G27 runs with just mag and barrel changes in 9mm, 40 and 357 Sig..
    Gen 3 G27s use the exact same RSA in the G26/G27/G33 guns.
    My gun ejects fine in 9mm with the 40 ejector/extractor.
    If you go with a 9mm ejector/extractor you can forget
    easily switching back to 357.
    Also the glock 357/40 guns are identical except for barrles and mags. So a G23 40-9mm barrel will be identical to a G32 40-9mm barrel and may be easier to come by.
    The G23/G32 barrels will also fit in the G27/G33 guns.
    So If you have a baby Glock too, you only need one conversion barrel for both guns!
    The Gen4 seems to be much more involved than the Gen3
    +1 on Barth's post. My 22, 23, and 27 run great with just barrel and mag changes for 9 mm:cool:
    Conversion barrel and G19 magazines is all I needed to fire 9mm out of my Gen 4 G23. It's been 100% reliable.
    My Gen3 G23 didn't need anything but 9mm mags. And a little breaking in for the new gun. 155g 9mm's would not produce a few FTEs but 124g 9mm's shot fine. I have a case of 40 though the gun now and it shoots 115g 9mm's in all brands with no issues. The barrels of the Gen3 and 4 guns are different only in the cut0out milled in to seat the RSA. The Gen4 has a slightly larger radius.
    I also got the G32 barrel and use the 40 mags. Sweet.
    So what's the correct answer for a Gen4 23 or 32? I assume those 2 are identical except maybe for the mag followers... just barrel and mags?
    What brand/shop is considered the best conversion barrel? Barsto? Would shooting a converted 9mm in a G32 for self defense be considered unwise?
    I've had good luck with Storm Lake.
    After 1000+ rounds of HPs through the conversion barrel
    I feel confident carrying it.
    Have Storm Lake barrels in 9mm conversion, 40 and 357 Sig.
    They have all been drop in and 100% reliable with 4000+
    HP rounds between them.
    My Bar-Sto, in my Sig P220/45, is not 100% reliable with HPs.
    I'm having them build be a triple ported 357 barrel for my Sig P239.
    And have requested the chamber be opened for self defense HP feeding.
    We will see about that.
    I wait and watch....
    I did some window shopping and most barrel makers, LWD, StormLake, etc. don't explicitly state that their barrels are Gen4 compatible. Are they?
    If I pick up a G32 Gen4, I'd like to get a 40 and 9 conversion barrels. Is there a problem with using ones by these 2 manufacturers? What about Glock OEM barrels. Do I need to specifically look for and buy Gen 4 barrels?
    Thanks.
    Anyone a "perfect" conversion. In other words, a Glock OEM G19 slide + all the internals running on a G32 frame?
    The LWD 40-9 conversion works fine in my gen 4 G27. AAMOF, I've used the .40 mags loaded with 9mm at IDPA practice to supplement my 3 G26 mags with no problem.
    I don't have a 357 set-up, but understand you don't need a "conversion" barrel for 357 to 40 or vice versa - just drop in an OEM barrel of either caliber as their outside dimensions are the same.
    Ed: oops, rereading, you probably already knew that!
    I have not heard of any generation problem with conversion or replacement barrels....just that full size (17, 34, 22, 35) are not compatible with the smaller (19, 26, 23, etc.) guns as the barrel lugs are different.
