That blows. Where was it in the car?

This is why I don't keep guns in the car. I'm worried enough about my GPS unit.

Sounds like someone that knows you had it in the car took it. It sounds like maybe you may hold some responsibility in that regard.

Almost 15 years ago I had a Glock 19 stolen in almost the same manner.
    It truly sucks.
My car was in the driveway and the home insurance took care of me, don't know about away from the house though.

I wouldn't do this for liability reasons alone.

Can you give us some more details to make this more of a learning experience. What type of vehicle? Do you have any gun or hunting stickers on the outside of the car? Were you wearing any type of gun or shooting apparel? Anything else that might be helpful?

Does your car insurance cover the contents of the car, if so you may be able to file a claim depending on your policy details.

Hopefully this gun will be sold for a quick buck rather than used to facilitate a crime.

Why wasn't the gun on you? Or locked in something while it was in the car?

4 fingers are pointing back at you. Sucks but why leave it in a car?

Sorry but never leave a gun in the car! Wallyworld is not a safe place!
Also take my GPS unit with me all the time!

I'm in the pacific NW, not sure what Wally World is, but do they have security cameras in the parking lots?
    That really sucks.

Sorry man that just sucks. Did you make a police report just in case it is found?

One of the first things I did was get a lock box for my vehicle. I've only used it once but I want it there for those rare instances I do need it. It won't stop someone prepared for that but it should stop the casual opportunistic smash and grabber. An alternative is to remove the slide and take that with you. At least they won't get a complete gun.

My condolences for your loss. I have one of those GunVault thingys, $22 + tax. If the piece is not on me, I lock it there. I guess if they really wanted it, they can still go for it but, it would take them more time and nice :)

I'm sorry for your loss. Unless the car gun is on me it's in the trunk. Mostly on me. 99%
