Gen4 G19 cracked/chipped slide?

    After a few hundered round I started having ejection problems with my new Gen4 G19, see this threadfor the details.


    I details striped the slide to get a look at the extractor and found what looks like a crack or chip on the slide. Here are some pictures if it:

    I don't know about you all, but that just does not look quite right to me...

    Do you think there is metal missing or just the finish?
    Either way.......I would contact Glock

    I would get in contact with Glock. That looks like trouble in the making.

    That's a machine/tool mark. All Glock's have that but way less deep. The one in the pic looks pretty deep though. Not sure, it could be harmless. Macro pictures can make tiny things look enormous.

    I just checked my G19 gen4, test fired: May 2011. It has the exact same tool mark. I'd say don't worry about it, it's no crack.

    I would talk to GLOCK. SInce you are having ejection issues.

    I sent the information and pictures to Glock last night, they called me back this morning and said that they were indeed unusually deep tool marks, but that they were probably not what was causing the ejection problems. They said that if I sent it back to them that they could replace the slide and test the gun to see if they could find what was causing the ejection problems, but the new slide would have a different serial number -- could that be a problem sometime in the future?
