First off---I have 7 Gen4s, including 4 9mm guns, and this is the only one that ever had issues. It's also the oldest one of the bunch; not sure if that means anything. Anyways....

I've sent my Gen4 19 to Glock 3 times now and just got it back today. The sheet just says, "Inspected. Upgraded. Meets specs." The other two times it's been sent back they just changed the extractor or ejector and said it's good to go but alas it wasn't. This time they changed the barrel :dunno: and did the polishing/stoning on the extractor that's shown in the sticky on this page. They also changed out the firing pin safety, trigger w/ trigger bar, and connector.

    Here's the new barrel:

As I just got this gun back about an hour ago I can't attest to how it functions but at least it seems they're paying attention to Dave's fix down in Smyrna....

I'm not sure what's up with the new barrel but it has some decent wear on the barrel hood so I'm guessing they shot it a good bit. I'll post updates after I fire it.

I'm surprised that they'd make a new barrel with the same serial number, I've never heard of them doing that. Does the barrel have "AT" or "US" on the top? I'm wondering if now that they can make barrels in the US, that possibly they can make barrels with duplicate serial numbers now.
All G19 barrels that came with a slide that has the 15 degree ejection port have a "1" on them.

It has neither AT nor US on it. Just 9x19.

I also have two other 19s with the 15 degree port; neither have the '1' on it (I just checked because I thought I was going crazy!). Sounds like we've got a mystery on our hands here! I'm certain it's a new barrel because it has almost no wear on the barrel itself where it interacts with the end of the slide during firing; just some on the barrel hood. When I sent it in the barrel had tons of wear in that area---more than most 9mms do. It was worn like most of my 40 caliber Glocks are.

I wish I took pictures of it before I sent it off now...

A 1 added to the serial number means its a replacement part from Austria. At least that's what Glock told me about mine.

    Interesting.
My G19 Gen 3 (serial FPE###) that I purchased new has a "1" on the barrel.

Anyway, hope you got it solved, OP.

Glock replacement barrels start with the letter "L" and have five numbers. The 1 after a s/n means Variant 1. They do not "stone" extractors.

Well I can certainly tell you that I didn't stone/file/grind the extractor so it seems they do.

As I understand it, that "#1" on an older Glock means something totally different....something about having the updates when the barrel design was updated or something like that. A newer glock such as a Gen 4 with a "#1" means that the barrel is a replacement from the factory.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

My 19RTF2 has a 1 added to it...and it is not a replacement barrel. All my Gen4's and newer Gen3 do not have a 1 on the end.

If you look you will see a slight bevel on top of the barrel where it locks up with the slide. That is what the 1 sands for. The original barrels did not have this, I think this came about after the NYPD had a lot of problem with their G19's. Pops

THEY DID NOT GIVE YOU A NEW BARREL OR THE WOULD HAVE STATED IT ON THE PAPER WORK THEY SENT BACK ... The one on the barrel let them know it's the newer barrel ..
if you look at the top of the barrel there is a very small ramp at the front of the barrel hood

this barrel has the one on it

and it's in my 19 same barrel that came with the gun
