hello! Does anyone know anything about a Glock 23C Gen 2? What year did they make them? Did Glock factory make a Gen 2 23C? Price range of one real clean & has the older Glock box? Just curious because I’ve recently acquired one and couldn’t really find any info over them. Please & thanks in advance!!
Congratulations!!! Please post pics. Gen2 C models are pretty rare, only made for a short time. Check out the Glock serial number research thread in the valuable information threads to find more information.
thanks!! I just tried to find that serial number forum no luck, could you add a link and I also tried to add an image but is saying that the “picture is too large”
Thanks again!! But I clicked the link and still couldn’t find what I was looking for, nothing really would pop up when I entered the serial code & also cannot post the picture because says the image is too large? any ways to help??
Okay thanks all of you because I’ve found some info over it! CGZ*** are the first 3 letters an I’ve found it on that forum. If you could find and tell me anymore info with those letters be my guest.. lol Does anyone know of a price range??
Is the serial on the frame CGZ###US and do the slide and the barrel have CGZ### on them?
The 2004 PTOOMA Complete Glock Reference Guide contains a comprehensive model versus serial number versus import date tabulation in Appendix C. (This information is NOT included in Lone Wolf Distributing's version of this book.)
This tabulation shows that G23 (NOT G23C!) pistols with serial CGZ###US were imported in June 1997. They would be Gen2.
BUT...the earliest G23C shown is serial CYN###US, imported in December 1998. It would likely be Gen3.
An OEM Gen2 G23C would thus seem dubious. Pictures of the right side would have been useful. Does it have US at the end of frame serial? Does it have non-US Austrian proof marks on the barrel hood...if so what are the three proof date code letters next to the proof? Call Glock Customer Service at 770-432-1202 with model and serial for verification...perhaps there was some special sales situation.
Just as an unrelated aside, a Gen2 G23 with serial below CPU###US is NOT approved by Glock for use with an OEM 357SIG G32 barrel, should that ever be desired.
As far as value, it's hard to say. Some people wouldn't give any more than any other used Gen 2 .40, while others are aware of how rare the Gen 2 C models are and would pay more to add it to their collections (myself included). You may want to ask the question in the collectors forum to get information.
i don’t think gen 2 C versions are rare, i bought a couple new and they never seemed hard to find. i love gen 2 glocks and think they are the highest level quality of finish and parts.. enjoy the gun and shoot it a bunch.
I suspect it's a valid Gen2 G23C that didn't get classified separately from plain G23 pistols in the PTOOMA book serial listings. Only Glock can provide the real answer. Please let us know what they say.
Hey man, I also have a Gen 2 23c in mint condition. Also couldn’t find anything, but based on my serial number, it’s showing to be produced December of 1996. Not a whole lot made. Like a really low number of them were produced. From what I’ve found. Hope this helps.
