Don't you just love attitude...;? ;? ;?
One of my favorite Generals! What a soldier! ;f
Chesty was the man RIP
USMC 5th FORCE RECON & 1st ANGLICO 1968-1972
These are my original 10th jump "gold bloodwings" that were pinned on my chest in July 1971 by Captain Clovis C. "Buck" Coffman. A Marine's Marine.
digitspaw, some may not know what you mean by "BloodWings".
Would you enlighten those few?
BloodWings are when they are pushed into your chest not the holders when earned. I was with 1st Recon Battalion Conpany Charlie.Seem we chewed some of the same mud I was in from 68/74. Team Snakey.
Welcome home bro!
Still say Recon types were crazier than any airplane driving FAC...Hell, we stayed IN our planes as long as they were runningand did our job; y'all jumped out of perfectly good airplanes to do your job...;g ;g
Guess the fact that y'all were armed made a little difference. Darn smoke rocket had to be a direct hit to hurt someone...;f ;f ;f
One of my favorite Generals also, plus a VMI graduate to boot ;?
Scott, are you VMI?
I wish! Goofed off to much in high school and didn't have the grades
Went enlisted right after high school. Though most of my heros graduated from there and I go there at least once a year to visit the musem, vist Bobby Lee and Stonewall. It's only about a 45 minute trip from Roanoke.
E__WOK, that "Famous Marines" site is interesting.
Thanks for posting it.
Would care to join a good mix of Marines, PM me I belong to 2 and they are like your team was tight.
