Yeah...my thoughts exactly. I have a Gen4 40S&W/357 Sig...three pins.
I also have a Gen 4 G23 and a Gen 4 G27/G23 slide combo, now I want to recreate the feel of my G45. I'm seriously thinking about buying a Lone Wolf Timberwolf (3 pin) frame with full size grip/compact size slide.
hadn't thought about that... good point.
I asked Vedder Holsters if the gen 5 23, would fit in my Gen 4 G23 holsters, this is her response:

Thank you for reaching out to us! Our Glock 23 holsters will work for the Gen's 3, 4 and 5 so that should not be a problem at all!
If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to let us know. Thank you for your business and have a great day!

If you have a holster for the larger Glock G20, or G21 it should fit the Gen5 G22 just tighten it up a little bit.
How would they know it fits the wider slide gen5 23?
Are they assuming it is like the 19?
You are right, I bet Stephanie doesn’t know what a G23.5 will be.
I specifically asked in relation to the 2mm wider slide, because they have changed their listing for .40s to include Gen 5.
It could cause MAJOR problems for them down the road.
Here is the Vedder link, that states the holsters that will fit a Gen5 G22.
The Gen 5 .40 slides are wider than the frame, just like the Gen 4 .45 GAP guns. If you look at the articles that include pics, you can see how wide they are.
I havent kept 100% with threads on this, so if this had already been addressed my apologies. Davisdon's has SKU numbers listed, but I noticed G22 still states 15+1, but G23 12+1, which is down by one compared to Gen 4. Anyone heard or know if this is correct? and or why? Thank you.
Last time I looked, most of those did not have UPC numbers. I don't trust anything till it has a UPC number. If you know the SKU breakdown, those are easy to create. UPC means Glock is gearing up on it, and the info is likely to be more accurate.
Myself as well. My 23.4 has been my EDC for a long time.
Thank you, atttached is screen shot listing UPC. Will have to see for sure when they hit stores. I find it curious is all though.
Waiting for the G35.
I don't either.
I see that but they also list this:
The Glock 22 (Gen 3, 4, 5) has a width of 32 mm or 1.26 inches.
Is that overall width with all controls? The slide is usually form fitting on these holsters, are they not?
So I don't think they understand the gen5 slides will be thicker. Going to be a lot of exchanges in their future.
Really wish they would have shown a 23/22 Crossover along with the std models.
They will probably wait a year to introduce an emulation of the G45 in .40. Let the "First Adopters" buy the standard models and then offer the one you "Really, Really" want. After that they'll release the colored frames.
I went to "Mother Glock" and was comparing the size of a G17 Gen 5 to a G20 Gen 4, to my shock both guns measure 1.34" wide and the 20 is only 0.12" longer.
A G20 gen 4 slide mated to a large TimberWolf frame might be a good carry piece when compared to a G22 Gen 5.
