Sorry if these have been asked 100 times already...

Does the Gen4 fit the older style Glock holsters?

Will my KKM barrel from my Gen3 fit in the Gen4?

    Thanks...

When a similar question re conversion barrels was asked in a different thread, http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1184525 , I said that previous posters gave the same answer as JB. However, a LW email was quoted as saying, "Yes."

Well, the barrel will fit, but it won't work properly, the spring cut out in the barrel is different, and would certainly wiggle loose at the first shot...

I think LWD will design a barrel specifically for the G4 Glocks ASAP.

The notch in the barrel only holds the back end of the spring until the last 1/4" of the slide being fitted onto the frame. At that point the back of the spring rests against the frame just behind the slide lock. It stays there until the slide is removed. As long as the spring sits deep enough for the slide to be reassembled onto the frame and pick it back up upon removal, it should be fine, I believe.

I wonder if you could use a Gen 3 recoil spring and then have an adaptor for the hole in the front of the Gen 4 slide?

I've sent an email to KKM to see what they think...

    Yes.

    Yes.

Anyone who says otherwise has neither talked to KKM nor put one in their Gen4. I have done both.

The cutout in the barrel is for reassembly only.. that is not where the guide rod rests during normal use. Several hundred rounds through my KKM barrel says it functions fine.

And there is a Gen4 Q&A thread already going where this has already been covered (see reply #184 and on):

KKM sent me an email telling me that my older KKM barrel will indeed fit my new Gen4 G17...but for the life of me, I can't mount the slide with it installed...

Is there a trick to this or did yours mount just fine?

    Thanks...
