I vaguely remember reading in one of the original gen 4 threads that there will be no Gen4 OD's. I know it's been discussed before here somewhere...
There were rumors that the OD would not be continued in the Gen4 line, but I've seen nothing concrete. Of course, the only concrete thing is looking at your local gun store to see what's currently on the shelf. I think Glock would test the waters with the new design before adding all of the previous features to the new generation. I like OD, if I have the option of it over black I'll take it any day.
i think as long as sales are booming in black we will never see od, tan or dark earth so lets all boycott all black glocks.........aaaaahhhhh but i need a 35 now!!! lol
i think most reviews ive heard of cerakote are all good so i believe thats a reasonable option, think i may try it on my new gen4 35
Still wouldn't surprise me if they came out with a limited supply of them at some point. They sell better when they aren't in production as we all see now, so I would think if they come back, it will be a small number and only from time to time.
I think if the new gen4's catch on, they MAY make a run of them since the current OD's are bringing a good amount of money and interest now that they dropped them from production. I know there are some that do not like the gen4's and it may take awhile to get that turnaround, but I think they may do a run of something different!
I watched a Youtube video of "NutnFancy" at shot 2011 talking to a Glock Rep about the Gen 4's. One of the questions was about the OD frames, he basically said they were discontinued because of poor sales, but now everyone wants them back. The guy also blames the Gen 4 malfunctions on inexperienced shooters limp wristing their Glocks.
