Just curious if any of the Gen 4 owners here have modified their guns yet? If so what? Reason for asking, I'm debating the purchase of one and have rather enjoyed the ability to change and experiment with the connector, springs, etc. I understand that there aren't, as of yet, any barrels / spring assemblies for the Gen 4 BUT, have you changed things to improve the trigger, etc.

    Thanks!!!

    In my opinion:

    - Hold off for another year before getting a Gen 4
    - Keep it stock unless its a target/plinking piece

Aside from that, I'm sure someone has found some way to screw up their new firearm and they'll probably chime in shortly.

Here's what I've changed on mine:

    Heinie night sights
    3.5# connector
    KKM .357sig barrel
    Factory extended slide stop

100% flawless function, 2k+ rounds so far in this configuration

I've added Ameriglo sights, a factory extended slide stop lever and a factory "-" connector to my competition Gen4 G17. It shares 14 magazines with my Gen1 G17L.

Night sights don't really count as a "Gen 4 Mod".

I don't consider night sights on any Glock a "mod" for that matter.

I'm going to hold off on the Gen 4 for about a year or so because since they're fairly new, most shops / gun shows sell them for alittle higher price than the Gen 3 - around here at least. Plus, after a year of they're release, they'll be plently of mods to choose from... I'm sure Glock is working on them along with LWD.

No none of their current barrels will work in a Gen4, at least to my knowledge. The recoil assembly is different, so the cut-out in the barrel lug for the recoil assembly is different. Also the other type of recoil assembly won't work properly with the Gen4 slide and frame.

    This is wrong.

The Gen 4 Q & A thread in the "Valuable Info" section of this website is great place to start if you have a question about the Gen4.

To modify is to change. Changing sights is a modification.

No mods needed. Good as is...with a 33 rounder and Glock knife.

Has it become the "Go-to" gun for IPDA, USPDA, or GSSF for anyone?

I will have to say the magazine release looks to have been made large enough to make it easier to use without shifting grip possition.. But I've seen several threads about thier ambi release being flawed..

Vanek Classic trigger, ext. slide stop, ext. slide lock, Glock metal rear sight and Hi Viz fiber optic front sight. 4200 flawless rounds fired. Tested with a G3 G17 slide as well as a G3 G35 slide and it shot 100% with no issues.

The ambi mag release is not the same as the flawed one on the G21SF (which (mag release)has been discontinued). There have been no reported problems with the new Gen4 release, and is uses the same mag release spring as older G17's.

    It's pretty nice
I put a Glock - connector in my 22. That and putting on the Mep's I just got for it is all I'll do. I might put a 7151 on one of the new mags for when it's sitting on my nightstand.
