Is the only Gen 4 currently available the Glock 22 / full size .40 cal? I'd like to try a Glock 19 with the new grip system.

During armorer re-cert last month, Glock rep said May for the 19/23.

Get yourself a Gen 2 model 19, without finger grooves or rail, you'll be happier.

I've got a Gen 3 G19, but am thinking seriously about getting a Gen 4 G19 when it comes out as well!

It's for my daughter and if I find a deal on one I'd get it and have a grip reduction done.

If the dual recoil spring in the gen 4 helps with recoil reduction, I hope Glock (or somebody) makes a retro fit one for the earlier gens.

My Daughter is a lefty and think the Gen 4 G19 will be her first gun. In the end it's up to her...

Aftermarket dual recoil springs are already out there for the earlier guns and the ones used in the Gen4 are simply too big for the frame or slide of earlier guns.

The Glock 19 isn't exactly a hard recoiling gun...

Try shooting a 23 with defensive ammo.

I thought there may be some after market ones. Do they help with reduced recoil, are they a captured assy?

I handled 2 of the Gen 4 guns this past weekend at the DFW gun show. Very disappointing. Didn't care for the new grip at all. For me, it was not nearly as comfortable as the Gen 3 grip.

As said only G22/G17 right now. Unless it is just so much better for you I would not trade a good Gen3 for one. They are better but not that much in my opinion.
    Having said that I have a G22 Gen3 RTF2 and a G22 Gen4 and like them both.

Try shooting both with sweaty hands and you may prefer the G4.
