Just picked up a g23 an I'm going to the range tomorrow. What are people using for target ammo?
I also just got a g23 gen4 and I use Speer lawman 180 gr.
I shoot the cheapest FMJ ammo I can find. That is usually Winchester white box or more recently, this Blazer brass cased 180gr FMJ from Palmetto State Armory.
Currently it is 13.99 a box with free shipping.
I shoot 180 gr FMJ because my SD load is 180 gr PDX1.
I like to buy in bulk. $260 per 1000 rounds (=$13.00/50).
Free shipping too if you buy enough.
My first choice also. SJ 40
Reloads as well. Or Lawman, Independence, Federal cheap stuff, or whatever I can find. My gen4 23 eats everything, and I mean everything I have put in it. Which is almost everything. A more reliable semi there is not. Reloads obviously are the cheapest way to go, I have about 300 already made and another 500 waiting for me to get off my lazy ass and put together.
Like others, Winchester and Federal-- 180 grain. No issues thus far.
Congrats on the new G23! I typically shoot 165gr. WWB at the range.
Congrats on the G23.
WWB here. What the heck is a "lurchmuffins"? Are they like space cakes or something?
PMC Bronze, WWB, Blazer Brass - all 165 grain FMJs. Have run about 700 rounds of these through my G23 Gen3 without a single issue!
180gr Federal, Blazer, Winchester white box, reloads. Whatever I can get my hands on really, my gen 4 23 isn't picky.
My Gen4 G23 eats up the cheap walmart stuff. WWB and Federal mostly.
