I was wondering about a mark on the frame, more specifically on the the dust cover. On the right hand side of the pistol, as viewed when your pointing the gun, there is what appears to be a soft spot or air pocket in the polymer.

I can push on it with a wooden tooth pick and the polymer on the surface pushes in a few thousandths of a inch and stays there. The area in question appears as a line about .035" in width and runs all the way across the dust cover rail on the right hand side, right before where the dust cover rail terminates into the rest of the frame just ahead of the right front slide rail.

I have heard about air voids in polymer pistols. I have also had a few other Glocks that had anomalies in the polymer. This one just looked different than the usual ones that I have come across.

I looked at it under 10x magnification and it doesn't appear to be a crack. I called Glock about this and they said not to worry about it. I don't have a digital camera handy so I can't take a picture of it at this time. Judging by my description, would you agree with what they said? Also, would you see any need to send the gun back to Glock because of this. This gun has just over 3k rounds through it and this mark has been there since it was new and has not gotten any bigger.

Thanks.

Any issue in the dust cover area is not an issu that will affect reliability. It is first of all a dust cover. It covers the recoil spring from dirt and debris and occasionally supports a light or laser. I honestly feel you have no worries.
That's great to hear!

What about with a light attached to the weapon?

Any issues there or am I reaching?

Thanks again! :wavey:
