How much longer must we wait for Glock to start distributing the Gen 4 G19's? I am getting anxious. Thanks in advance.

I was in the fun shop, guy said the dates they're getting are all over the place, but they should certainly be available by the Fall.
Will there be Gen 4 19C?

You will have to wait until at least the time when Glock starts manufacturing them. Do you think anyone here is privy to that kind of information?

I was told by OMB Guns that the Gen 4 G19 should be available around June/July.

OMB is no longer a stocking Glock dealer. They do handle Sig, Kimber and Smith&Wesson.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Sorry to beat the dead horse, but I stopped by the forum to see if anyone had any new info on the Gen 4's. I really want to pick up a Gen 4 G19 so I'm willing to wait.

That's funny. I just received my G19 from them a few days ago, and they told me they would have the Gen 4s around June/July.

    They probably won't tell you.

If they gave a definite release date, sales of current 3rd gen Glock 19's would greatly suffer. Everybody would want to wait until the 4th gen Glock 19 comes out.

If they don't give a date, sales won't suffer as much. Sure, some people will wait until it actually does come out. But many people will not wait if they have no idea whether the new version is coming out in 3 months, in 6 months, or in 12 months.

I think the G23 gen 4s might be out already, read several reports of being in shops. Didn't take too long for the G17s to come out after the G22s.

Many people are referring to the RTF2 as a G4.

    I noticed that confusion also.

I checked out a G22 Gen 4 at Cabela's. I was not impressed. No significant improvement over the Gen 3.

What were you hoping for that the Gen4 didn't deliver?

While I can't speak for him, I would say that while the base grip (SF size) was definately an improvement for the full size frames, I was disappointed in the grip texture. Certainly it was better than the RTF2 sandpaper but still quite aggressive.

If I were a cop still, or wore shooting gloves, or was in a position to be bleeding or sweating all over my gun, then perhaps but for my purposes its just too aggressive.

I guess I just need to get out and toughen up my hands with  manual labor

2500 rounds through my G4 G17 and never noticed the aggressive grip all the Glock sightseers are talking about, never had any issues with any of my RTF2 Glocks either. If you like the G3 Glock you will like the G4 more after shooting it.
