I just got back from my second range session with my new G23. It has had 36 180 gr PDX1's and 39 180 gr Win. Whitebox FMJ's run through it so far. Last range session I fired the JHP's. Had one hit my forehead on ejection. This session I fired the FMJ's. No failures today of any kind. I did notice that some of the finish is missing on the front of the ejection port though. It looks like some of the ejected brass bounced off of the front of the port. If it's cosmetic, then I don't care. I see the gun as a tool for SD. I would like to know if this issue makes it more probable to have a failure like a stove pipe in the future though. Also, I noticed that the brass today was slightly buldged where the round is unsupported due to the feed ramp. Is this to be expected, or is this a problem? Thanks.

Yes, it's a sign of improper ejection. The gun is on the edge to jam! When the shell casing triples out. Noticed the same on my gen4 G23, but, it should stop after about 200-300 rounds like mine did. It seems to me, that new gen4's need a little break-in time now, till everything loosens up. My G23 shoots much better now, compared to when it was new. It shoots mo more brass towards me and no brass marks on the ejection port.

I need to know how to scrub the brass marks off of the front of the ejection port so that I will know if it happens again. Also, it did not happen with the PDX1's. Is it a Win. Whitebox ammo thing? Thanks.

You can try it with a plastic (I would not use a metal brush on the finish) bore brush and some solvent. But i doubt you can scrub it off, because the finish is gone where the brass was hitting the port.

I believe its a WWB and American Eagle ammo thing. I also shot some Win PDX1 from time to time, and it never happened with them.

It does make a stovepipe more likely. Call Glock and tell them you have ejection problems with your Gen4 G23. There's a new ejector for Gen4 to fix the problem, they'll likely want you to send the gun to them so they can install it. Ask for a prepaid shipping label if they don't outright offer one. Here are some pictures of the new ejector for Gen4 .40: http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=17999796&postcount=81

If you get the new ejector, please post an update on what if any number marking is on the side of the new .40 ejector.

Normal.

Bore solvent and a lot of scrubbing with a phosphor bronze bristle brush. I use Hoppe's #9 and it still doesn't get it all off. I wipe it down with Ballistol and leave a thin coat on those spots. By the next time I take the gun apart again for another oil wipe down and lubrication those marks are completely gone.
