I just bought a Gen 4 G19. It seems the ejection problems are solved. I have run over 300rds so far with out a problem. The test fire date was 6-23-12 on the spent cases in the box. I plan on running another 400 rds through it before I carry it. This is my first Gen 4 gun. My older Gen 3 G19 and G20 have been flawless in the many thousands of rounds that I have shot in them. That being said I also have a S&W M&P 40 that I really like. In the full size guns I prefer the M&P. It has much better ergonomic grips and feels better in my hand than the full size Glocks. The barrel supports the case head better than the Glock 40 cal. I like the G19 for it's size and the way it shoots. It is a great carry gun.

That's good news. I bought a G26 and G30 that were made in July of 2012 and I'm hoping there won't be any problems with them. Going to the range tomorrow to find out.

Good luck and safe shooting with your 19, I love mine!

Having had a kaboom in my G23, I agree that in .40, having the extra headspace isn't necessarily good shooting reloads/remanufacturer ammo. That's why I replaced my barrel with the KKM barrel.

Will it help me with the next case blowout? I don't know...Have not had another in over 1.5k rounds since i replaced the barrel. Not sure if this means anything or not.

All my 9MM and .45 ACP Glocks have factory barrels.

It's been several years since Glock corrected the .40 kaboom issue, I'm going to assume your 23 is/was older

I have a pretty good variety of ammo to try out so perhaps something can be gleaned from using different ammo. I have 115, 124 and 147 grain in FMJ 9MM (no +P but some pretty warm Romanian "Hotshot" ammo). In .45ACP I have 185grain +P Golden Saber as well as 200 grain +P and 230 grain standard pressure ammo. I even have some of that goofy "Fang Face" Extreme Shock ammo. BTW...that stuff worked 100% in my 92FS Beretta.

    congrats..

the problem with the gen4 usually appears after 1k -1200 rounds... so let us know when you hit that rounds counts.

I got a g19 gen4 too.. was ok until reached 1000 and in some other forums people has reported the same...

    hopefully it would run fine...

I have a m&p FS 9 too.. very nice and the glock 19 fit my hand perfectly...like them both

Congrats! Gen4 G19 is a great gun. My wife kidnapped mine and won't let me have it back!

just curious, what brand of ammo did you use? It appears that my gen4's have only had ridiculous ejection problems with the federal champion ammo. If I use Speer, Winchester it works awesome in that it flies way away from the gun. The Federal still works, it is just irratic and sometimes lands on my arms, head etc...

I have a Gen 4 19 with a test fire 3\12. Federal Champion is the only ammo other than defense ammo and I may get hit with 1 out of 100 rounds. I personally Dee it as a non issue as long as it goes bang when the trigger is pulled and never had any issues

I now have over 600 rounds through my Gen 4 G19, only 100 of the Federal ammo, and all is good, no failures, no BTF (except for 3-4). The Federal 115gr does eject weakly, meaning not as strongly as other ammo but it rarely ejects to the face. Of the 3-4 BTF of the 600+, they were either WWB or Remington. I think mostly Remington.
