I was in the local firearm sales area for LEO and speaking with the owner looking at the Gen 4 G22. I purchased a Gen 4 27 on this visit. I inquired about upgrading my Gen 3 G22 recoil spring with the new Gen 4 type double spring. He told me they weren't compatible, but could not tell me why? Any of you can help shed light on this, Thanks

The gen4 recoil rod is too large to fit the opening in a gen3 slide.

Thanks for the reply, as I did not have both side by side I did not compare. Too bad as I think that design of recoil spring works great, also have a G30.

get a Wolff non captured spring and a SS guide rod if you feel it's necessary, but the stock Glock spring works fine on a G30. The 45 ACP is not a high pressure round anyway. The 10mm is a different story. I put a Wolff 21# spring and SS guide rod in my G29. Definitely helped with brass ejection not going 20 feet. I think it helped with recoil as well.
