The good news is I ran across a Gen1 Glock 17 at my LGS. The frame is in excellent condition (it does have the lanyard hole). The down side is the slide was replaced . The barrel and frame share the same serial number but the slide is a replacement. Frame serial number is CLXXX. I have purchased a few guns from this LGS and the owner told me it was a one owner gun, and I don't have any reason not to believe him It came with the Tupperware box but not the one with the ammo storage area. It came with two mags but I don't know how to determine the age or if they are original to the gun. Anyway, regardless of the slide status, I'm happy to own this smooth frame Glock!
I'm not sure how good of a deal I got but I feel comfortable paying less than $340 with box and two mags.
